Marantec M3-2312 and Marantec M3-3313

It can be quite confusing to code a new garage door opener, especially if you've never had to do it before. Most often, this doesn't take very long, but most people still need instructions before configuring a new garage door remote. This is usually only necessary when moving into a new house, and the old owners had accidentally taken the garage door opener when they left.

The Marantec M3-2312 is probably one of the most commonly confusing types of garage door remotes to code. It just works a bit differently than other garage door openers. As it turns out, it's a very quick process, and is the same for the Marantec M3-3313 and most other Marantec remotes.

To configure a new Marantec M3-2312 or Marantec M3-3313, first you must locate the motor head and have your new remote in hand. Next, flip open the lip on the motor head and notice the circle of lights with three buttons. Hold down the button labeled "P" until it lights up. After it lights up, push and release that button until the number seven light is blinking. Once the number seven light is blinking, you can push the button on the remote. Let go of that button and press the "P" button on the motor head one more time, and you've just coded your brand new Marantec M3-2312.
