Suffering from Acne

Every day, there are tens of thousands of Americans living with acne. Acne, affects our lives and our livelihoods. Having skin blemishes can make us feel separate from everyone else. We may avoid public places, have lower self esteem, and as a result, have lower grades or work performance. We feel awkward going through otherwise normal experiences because our appearance is not what we want it to be. We get acne from environmental factors, harsh cosmetics, hormones, stress, and any number of other causes. We're teens and adult of all ages. Even infants and young children can have acne.

It feels like everyone will stare at our pimples and rough skin. Maybe we'll be the butt of jokes or victims of bullying, or just be excluded from social activities. The person we know we are is hidden by the uneven skin on our faces. Most of us will feel some degree of social discomfort, but for many of us a bad complexion can bring on depression and suicidal thoughts.

Luckily we live in an age where there is a spectrum of effective treatments available to help clear up our skin and get us our lives back. A trip to our local dermatologist is all it takes to find out what treatments will bring us the fastest, safest results with minimal permanent scaring and discomfort. Modern medicine has a host of ways to deal with the symptoms of acne and in many cases to deal with the underlying causes. Acne sufferers are no longer sentenced to life without success, acceptance, and happiness. With an effective course of treatment we can see our acne clear up, or at least improve, in two to six weeks - and continued treatment (as directed by a dermatologist) can help prevent subsequent break-outs.
