T.C.R. Rooter and Plumbing LLC’s founder Terry Ault is well thought of in Northern Arizona. He began his commercial and residential plumbing and drain cleaning business in Flagstaff in 1993.

Flagstaff Uniform & Sports Exchange (F.U.S.E.) is our hometown clearinghouse for gently used Sports Gear and School Uniforms.

F.U.S.E. is the brain child of our content author Kathryn Peterson. She was volunteering at her daughter's middle school recently. Another volunteer and mother of four was bemoaning the fact that there was no used sporting goods outlets in town. She immediately realized that this is a business idea she could commit to.

Not only does F.U.S.E. support the important trend to recycle and re-use, F.U.S.E. helps families save money and keeps revenue in the community that would otherwise leave the community to go to big box store corporate headquarters. "I just love everything about this business!" Ms. Peterson said.

Currently Kathryn and her business partner Kristin Brown are holding a Drop-Off drive to build inventory. It works like this:

1. Clean your closets and garages of used sporting goods that are outgrown or lightly used and still usable.
   
   
2. Bring them to Uptown Billiards at 114 N. Leroux St. in the heart of downtown Flagstaff. (If you turn on your blinkers, you can park in the alley adjacent to Uptown long enough to unload your stuff.) The drop-off center is in the back by the restrooms. Leave your stuff and fill out a form listing what you are leaving for F.U.S.E. We will create a trade voucher based upon the items you dropped off.
   
   
3. Come to our sales event in the parking lot of the Flagstaff Athletic Club West at 1200 W. Rt. 66 on June 6th and twice a month thereafter. Your trade voucher will be there waiting for you!
   
   
4. If you can't make the event, just call me Kathryn Peterson at (928) 853-2414. I will have our entire inventory on the data base by then acan pick up your used items and bring you the items you need anytime between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. as well as update your trade voucher account instantly!

Gene's Western Wear - fine cowboy boots and western wear

After four weeks in the making, the new site for Gene's Western Wear is online! Gene's Western Wear is Flagstaff's most genuine dealer in cowboy boots, work wear and a whole lot more.

Check out their new site, http://www.geneswesternwear.com/ to see what they've got going on. TrailsWeb took all the pictures you see on the site of the store. A few of the photos were provided by the manufacturers of some of the jeans they sell. We wrote all the text for the site, and did a ton of SEO work to make sure it'll get plenty of traffic.

We designed it all from scratch, and put some real effort into how the text and images align with each other and the framing of the pages.

After a bit of back-and-forth with the company that made Gene's previous, anemic website, we were able to get their old domain and have it point to the new site. We registered geneswesternwear.com for our client, but their old domain, geneswesternwear.net is listed in a bunch of different places and it was important to salvage it.

TrailsWeb will, as always, be in touch with Gene's from time to time to make sure the site is doing its job and find out what needs to be updated from time to time.

Gary Anderson was interested in setting up an online store, and I recommended we put together the site first, get some traffic flowing through that, and then build a store on top of the already popular website. That way we have a bunch of traffic already headed to the store before we spend the development money to build a store. The opposite would've been to build a store then try to get the traffic to it, having already paid out the cash for development. Unless there's a unique market condition where you'd want to preempt the competition, it's usually a good idea to start at the beginning and develop your internet presence on an as-needed basis.
